Lars Schaper came to the double bass by chance and soon realised that this was to become his profession. Performing with chamber ensembles such as CHAARTS and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Lars has always derived particular pleasure from chamber music. In addition to this passion, he has played in many renowned orchestras and currently holds a position in the SWR orchestra under Teodor Currentzis.
